The little pink bike has been put away for Lambchop's future first-bike use. Why? Because a couple of weeks after I brought it home, I saw an adorable, sporty little boy's bike in the same smaller size in front of a pawn shop. It was in nearly perfect condition, and a mere £15 pounds (instead of the £80-90 it apparently retails for new... shudder). So home it came for BooBaaa.
It turned out to be great motivation for BooBaaa to really focus on his pedalling: he was so excited and kept asking "For me? For me?". And after a couple of short (Boo-imposed) frustrating sessions on the driveway, it all suddenly clicked and he was off, pedalling furiously up and down the driveway with his brother.
Racing . . .
And always with a big smile when his adoring audience applauded his new skill. . .
The only problem now is when we go biking in our neighborhood, the daring duo have a tendency to just take off, forcing me to work to keep up with them, even though I'm usually pushing Lambchop in her stroller . . . I suspect I'm going to need a bike trailer for poor wee Lambchop sooner rather than later, so we can all go biking at the weekends!

Zoom!
Seems like every time I get on my bike, there are so many problems, I'm always jumping off. I'm better on foot.
the excitement on his face in that first photo is just adorable :-)
lambchop is going to learn the "for me" soon too :-)
how's your foot? walking around like normal now?
(ooooh, ladybird, ooooh)
I suspect so! congratulations to the dynamic duo :)
Pure joy. Suggestion for the 'stop there' moments. Get a whistle. Might upset Lambchop, but better than having to yell 'Car! Off the Road' quite so often.
LS has graduated to no training wheels. She is intense about the whole matter and I worry she will not hear her mother yell.
Keep at it. We are at the point where we are all four biking, as a family. And it's one of my favorite times...
As always those boys are so damn cute and that bike is perfect for a little boy. I was so sure when I started reading that someone had made fun of him on his pink bike and I am so glad that didn't happen. He is so sweet with "for me? for me?".
Congrats on the great bike find!
I love how kids look like little turtles now, riding about in their helmets. So cute!
Like an earlier commenter asked, how's your foot doing?
they look like they are having so much fun!
I LOVE my bike trailer. Love, love, love, think is the best thing since sliced bread. It's definitely been worth the money.
...anxiously awaiting The Lambchop Name Post ...
Oh what fun! Let the good times roll! :)
That is awesome! Boo is definitely ahead of KayTar!
Hope all is going well with you all. And that the summer weather is allowing the boys to get lots of outdoors time on their bikes.
